Through to the final in Toronto......
I played David Letourneau in the quarter-final yesterday, which proved to be a tough affair. The first game started well as I found myself 7-4 up relatively quickly, however, a couple of errors from me and two winners from David I was 10-9 down. I managed to force a tie break with a x-court nick of the serve but went on to lose the game 12-10. At 1-0 down I began to force the pace a bit more and move up the court. This had the desired effect as I took the next two game 11-3 and 11-8 respectively. David got off to a flyer in the fourth and despite a mini comeback in the latter stages of the game we were in a 5th. The 5th was well contested up until 5-5, where I managed to pull away and open up a lead. I conveted my first match ball and took the match 3-2 (10-12, 11-3, 11-8, 8-11, 11-7)
My semi finals oppenent today was the veteran Julian Wellings, who has been looking impressive this week and had not dropped a game en-route to the Semi's. Having had a long match last night, I was determined not to spend a long time on court today. I got off to good starts in all three of the games and concentrated well to finish them off and take the match 3-0 (11-6,11-9, 11-8).
Playing Dane Sharp in the final tomorrow.
